Nu Genea drop Neapolitan disco delight ‘Marechià’

A not-to-be-missed 7” from the Naples crew out on NG Records

Releasing this new 7” on their own label NG Records, Nu Genea (previously Nu Guinea) treat us to another Neapolitan disco delight. ’Marechià’ stays true to Nu Genea’s unique sound, complimented beautifully by the vocals of French singer Cèlia Kameni. Named after the seaside village Marechiaro on the gulf of Napoles, the track’s perfectly balanced blend of vocals, synths and guitars makes it an essential for summer listening. The now Berlin-based duo, Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina, saw the fusion of French and Neapolitan in their latest track as very fitting given the similarities between the two languages and cultural influences. ‘Maricheà’ acts as the perfect preamble to their next album in the pipeline, which they say “will focus on Naples, but also on the cultures that have touched it over time.”

Lovingly mastered by Frank Merritt, Maricheà is available to buy here.
