The lead single ‘What Kinda Music’ from the collaborative project by key players in the London contemporary jazz scene, Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes, gets a beautifully sleek remix by producer and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rakei. Jordan and Tom have a history of reworking each other’s music as well as featuring on each other’s releases. This time Jordan gives a breezy makeover to the addictively groovy ‘What Kinda Music’ which sees Yussef’s trippy drumlines fused with dreamy, soul-infused guitar and vocals from Tom. Mastered by Frank, Jordan’s fresh take on the composition gives it an electronica edge by bringing up the bass and elevating the gliding vocals and strings.
