The extensive archive belonging to the legendary Benin record label, Albarika Store, is getting a new lease of life with some of its rarer albums being reissued on vinyl. The reissue series will be released on notable label Acid Jazz, kicking off with a funkadelic Ipa-Boogie release later this month. A super-rare LP released in 1978 and the only recording of this group to have surfaced, the self-titled album has been remastered from the original master tapes by our Frank Merritt. From the same year, Poly Rhythmo’s ‘Segla’ recorded at EMI Lagos, Nigeria, will join Ipa-Boogie in the stellar line-up of this exciting archival series.
Out 20th November on 12″ vinyl and digital. Pre-order now via Bandcamp:
Ipa-Boogie and Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou.
